You Are What You Eat - Healthy Eating and Vitamins For Glowing Skin and Hair

Beauty is not about only using products on the skin, hair and nails. It's also about taking good care of what's going on inside your body, which means taking in a lot of vitamins and minerals, therefore we have to ensure we maintain a healthy diet always! At the end of the day you are what you eat. Here are a few foods that will keep you glowing!

Blueberries

Antioxidants in blueberries are proven to prevent you from premature ageing of the skin.

Walnuts

Walnuts contain a good amount of omega 3 fatty acids, as well as being highly rich in biotin and Vitamin E which protects your hair from damaging.

Salmon

Salmon also contains omega 3 fatty acids and it tends to keep our skin moisturised, smooth and supple.

Oysters

I'm not a fan of oysters, but they are rich in Zinc. A lack of Zinc can cause hair loss! It also can lead to a dry, flaky scalp. Nuts, Beef and Eggs also contain Zinc.

Spinach

I love wide, bright and beautiful eyes! Spinach contains alot of lutein which is supposed to keep your eyes looking gorgeous and sparkly.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are also a great anti-ageing antioxidant. Not only can you use them in meals, but you can also use them as a DIY facial. I've tried it and the results are fantastic.

Beetroot

Beetroot is particularly high in Vitamin A and it is proven to clear out the skin. This also contains Vitamin E, Magnesium, Calcium and much more. All these are essential for epidermal healing of your body.

Avocado

Avocado is a great source of vitamin E. This really does improve your skin tone and texture, as well as calming down inflammation on the skin.

There are plenty more of other foods that keep your body healthy and skin looking fabulous, this list of food is just a taster of the healthy foods that can really make a difference in your appearance.

WATER WATER WATER!!

We've all heard this rule before. 6-8 glasses of water should be drank daily to ensure our body remains healthy by cleaning out our toxins. This is also very beneficial for the hair, skin and nails. Water is all I drink, I hardly ever drink soda or juice and I get many questions on how I keep my skin clear and spot-free. I just drink plenty and plenty of water every single day and eat as healthy as I possibly can. If you don't like plain water you could try flavoured ones to get into the habit, that's how I started out!

Make-Up may keep us looking gorgeous on the outside, but bear in mind we need to take care of what's going on inside our bodies too! I hope this has helped you and thanks so much for reading.

Sally Hansen Triple Strong - How My Nails Grew Faster, Stronger and Thicker

A year ago I decided to be more natural and save money by keeping my natural nails. I was so obsessed with acrylic nails and I had them done all the time. This obviously lead to my nails becoming severely weak and brittle. They ALWAYS broke and felt so thin. Luckily I came across 'Sally Hansen Triple Strong'. This product is made to:

-  Add flexibility
- Protects against breaking, peeling and splitting
- Strengthen and enhance the structure of the nail
- Grow longer nails
- Helps nails become harder and durable
- Mends weak and fragile nails

Everything this product is meant to do really works! I am so pleased with it. My nails are 10x harder, thicker and much more stronger. I actually can't recall the last time my nails have split.
When I purchased this, the text on packaging advised to apply this either as a top coat, a base coat or just two coats of this alone. Along with ensuring to re-apply this every 3 days. I try my best to stick to the rules, but due to me being forgetful and busy lately I only apply this as a base coat and re-apply it whenever its time to wear fresh coats of nail varnish.

Triple Strong is so great, it dries in seconds and comes on as a smooth coat on the nails! The formula also makes my nails appear a lot more thicker than usual. It also does smell quite strong but I cannot think of any negatives on the overall product at all. My nails have repaired tremendously thanks to this amazing nail strengthener and I am so happy with it! If you have weak, brittle nails or are just looking to make your nails become much more longer, thicker and stronger you really need to try this. I began to see noticeable results after about 4 weeks and I've been re-purchasing this for a year now. My nails have never been so strong.
If you are looking to concentrate on just the growth of your nails I recommend using Sally Hansen Maximum Growth to see some quick, amazing results. I will do a post on that soon.

Thank You for reading! Hope you give it a try if you're looking to improve your nails.

Tips For a Long Lasting Manicure

I really love getting my nails done and giving them new fresh coats of polish! However there's nothing worse than them beginning to chip after only a few days. Here are some ways that helped my manicure last much longer.

1.  Use a Base coat, Two coats of Polish and a Top coat.

I know most of you may do this already, but I know some people tend to be lazy when it comes to the base and top coats! Please remember these are the most crucial things to use to maintain your gorgeous nail colour, making it last much longer.

2.  Avoid Old, Gloopy Polish

After awhile nail varnish tends to get gloopy once you keep it for too long. Its also important to store your collection in a cool, dry place. For example I keep mine in one of my drawers. This prevents your nail polishes to become really dry as heat can cause it be very unevenly on your nails.

3.  Protect Your Nails

When washing dishes it can really damage your nails, so always remember to put gloves on!

4.  Always Moisturise

Keeping your hands and cuticles in particular helps your manicure last loner aswell! Just to keep them hydrated and look better. Sally Hansens Cuticle Oil is truly amazing. It's also encouraged my nails to grow aswell. It's by far my favourite product to use on my cuticles.

5. File Nails

Filing nails not only keeps them healthy but it also maintains them in shape, as well as preventing breakage. When filing try and remember to file it in one direction to avoid feathering of the nails. Your nails will appear so much better and last longer than usual.

6. Buff Buff Buff!

Buffing completely transforms the nails. It improves the appearance of your nails instantly. They become much more softer and shinier. I'd really recommend using this.

Thank you for reading, I hope these tips will help you keep your manicure as long as possible x

Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Varnish

L-R Ruby Tuesday,  Diva Coral

Hey guys, I hope you've been enjoying your week so far! I'd just like to share with you these gorgeous nail polishes that I brought recently. They are by far the best varnishes I've tried.

Nails make a great impact on your appearance and I wanted to bring the best out of my nails by getting a great nail varnish that particularly doesn't chip! Through which I came across Max Factors Max Effect Mini Polishes and decided to give them a try. As you can see above I brought a true ruby colour, along with a bright coral. Though these brushes may be quite small, they are certainly easy to control as the bristles have an exceptionally soft texture. I'm in love with the finish this nail lacquer creates. It gives such a glam, glossy effect to my nails and I'm a huge fan of shiny nails! Not to mention, it dries unbelievably fast.
I also realise some nail polishes can actually tend to be fairly gloopy which I really hate!! Though with this product it's a different story, I'd honestly say this is perfection in a bottle.
As for chipping, I haven't had any problems with this varnish and it lasts me for days looking totally brand new!
Out of all the polishes I've ever tried, I'll always believe that these are one of the best!

Max Factor has many other shades for their Max Effect Mini Nail Polish line, I'd definitely recommend you look into it if  you absolutely love glamorous, chip free nails!

Enjoy the rest of your week and thank you for reading, please tell me what your thoughts are below.

Quick tips - Nail Strengthening

Hey guys! Hope you're having a great week. Here are a couple of tips on nails for those of you who are looking to achieve much more strong, longer and gorgeous nails!

- Vegetable Oil Strengthener

You will need:

2 tsp castor oil
2 tsp salt
1tsp wheat germ oil

Pour all the ingredients listed above into a sealable bottle and always shake well before use!  Rub a small amount onto each of your nails, especially the cuticles and leave them for around 5 minutes then wipe off with a cotton pad. This treatment would gradually get your nails becoming alot less brittle and much more healthy!

-Finger Food Manicure

You will need:

5 red grapes (They have more antioxidants in them than green grapes)
1tsp sugar

Start off by slicing all the grapes in half widthwise and dip the inside part of the grape into the sugar, followed by massaging it gently onto your nails (one halved grape per finger). Also make sure that you're massaging each finger for around 30 seconds to get the best results! Once that's done, brush away the excess sugar with a towel and finally cream your hands and nails with any hand cream.

This treatment is effective for your nails as it exfoliates and removes dead skin, leaving your nails as radiant as ever!

Sinful Colors - Ruby Ruby Nail Polish

Only last week I came across a huge line of Sinful Colors nail polishes. I couldn't take my eyes off the 70 beautiful diverse shades they had and I definitely had to get one!

The classy red nail polish 'Ruby Ruby' caught my eye the most! The colour is so bold and sophisticated, along with the other different vibrant colours they have.

The bristles on the brush are so smooth, making it such an easy breeze to apply. And once the two coats are applied your nails they shine like crazy!
I adore this product, it leaves your nails looking chic and polished. If applied with a top coat, it lasts chip free for about a week. Though what I love about this the most is that it's totally affordable and only £1.99! It is worth the money and I'd certainly recommend it.

You can purchase Sinful Colors Nail Polish at SinfulColors or boots stores for £1.99 each.
